Laser Stretch Marks

Since you will observe your stretch marks changing or fading, we refer to the Fraxel Laser as the stretch mark eraser. By creating tens of thousands of microscopic treatment zones (MTZ), or very deep microscopic columns in the skin, Fraxel improves the texture and tone of the skin. These little therapy areas are encircled by healthy tissue. In other words, because the skin is only partially targeted, the wound can heal quickly because the skin is kept intact. Stretch marks are significantly reduced thanks to this treatment's quick re-epithelialization, elimination of old epidermal pigmented cells, and penetration of the deeper dermis.

The Fraxel Procedure

On the day of the procedure, topical numbing cream is applied to the skin and left there for about an hour before the procedure. The laser treatment itself lasts for about 20 minutes. You will experience a warm prickling sensation on your skin during the actual treatment, which most patients find tolerable. Your skin will feel warm and similar to having a mild sunburn for the first hour or so following the procedure. Although redness and swelling are frequent, they might vary in intensity from person to person. This reaction or pinkness will last for three to five days and be accompanied by skin flaking, bronzing, and a bronze appearance that lasts for three to fourteen days.
